Abraham lincoin.

Abraham Lincoin  is one of the greatest President in American history. Without formal Education,he became one of the finest orators of his time and a great statesman
  Abraham Lincoin was born on 12 February 1809, in a back woods cabin in Kentucky. His father, Thomas Lincoin, was a small farmer.They moved from place to in search of new farm lands.He did not have a formal education. He was a self taught man. He worked as operator of ferry,storekeeper, clerk and postmaster. Once,he visited New Orleans and saw the slave market. The slaves were treated cruelly.By 1832 he had decided to enter politics. He studied  Law in his spare time. In 1842 he Married Mary Todd. He was elected as congress man in 1847. He introduced a bill abolishing slavery within the District of Columbia but it was flatly rejected. He was not re-elected. He concentrated on his law practice and became famous and a brilliant speaker.
  In 1860 he was nominated as the Republican party candidate for the president. Lincoin was elected on 6 November 1860.The southern states did not want to end slavery. So a Civil War broke out. But Lincoin freed all the slaves.He Won the second Presidential election. The Civil War came to an end.He saved the union of North and South. The Blacks were given equal rights.
 On Friday 14,Spiral 1865 he was assassinated. The Whole nation mourned his death.Now that he had gone,men realised his greatness.

Alexander Graham Bell.

Alexander Graham Bell was born in Edinburgh city at Scotland in the year 1847. His mother was deaf. His. Father was a teacher for the deaf.Graham  Bell had his elementary education only for 5 year.
  He worked as a teacher for the deaf children. While he was teaching he started his research. Once he tried to send some messages through a wire. He did not succeed. However, he continued his research. As a result he succeeded in sending human voice through wire in 1876. The Telephone was invented. His friend Watson helped him in his research. Do you know what was the first message spoken by Graham Bell in his Telephone?.
He said " Watson,come here,I want to see you".
Graham Bell was working with sound carrying equipment vin his Research Laboratory at Boston in America.
 Accidently  acid from the equipment fell on his dress.
Immediately he called his assistant "Watson"
Watson, please come here".
Watson who was working in a room on the first floor was shocked to hear Graham Bell's voice through the Equipment.
He immediately ran to the ground floor. He entered Graham Bell's room and shouted. "The Equipment is working."
This is how the telephone was invented.

PURAVIYATTAM.

    This is one of the oldest folk arts of Tamil Nadu.Both men and women perform this. Men dress like a King and women dress like a Queen. It is called as poikal kuthirai( dummy horse) because the performers tie wooden Legs and get into the decorated dummy horse made for the performance.

        Facial expressions,to and fro movement of the house,the swiftness with which the dance is performed adds beauty to this art form. This is one folk art Which is appreciated and enjoyed by the people of all ages.

KARAGATTAM.

This is the most popular folk art,Karakattam is a small metal pot which is filled with grains.This pot is decorated in the shape of a cone with flowers and zari.The top of the cone is decorated mostly like a parrot or a peacock.The performer balances this decorated pot on his/ her head and dances to the rthym and music.This is performed during temple festivals and processions.

INDEPENDENCE DAY.

On 15th of August 1947, India won her independence from the  British. We celebrate the day every year as Independence Day.

         On this day our Prime Minister hoists the National Flag at the Red Fort and the Chief Ministers hoists the flag in their state Capitals. Every one wears a small Indian flag on this day. All institutions across the Country,including your school,hoist the national Flag and salute it with Pride.

  On this day We remember all the Indians Who laid their lives for the Country.

There are Eight planets and many dwarf planets in the solar system.Pluto is one among the ddwarf planets.

Mercury:

Mercury is the smallest planet to the sun.

Venus:

Venus is the second planet. it is very hot.it is the brightest planet.

Earth:

The Third planet is the Earth.Where we live. It has Air and Water. It support life.

Mars:

Mars is the Fourth planet. It is Red in colour.

Jupiter:

Jupiter is the Fifth planet. It is the largest planet in the solar Family.

Satuarn:

Saturn is the sixth planet. There are big rings around it.

Uranus:

Uranus is the seventh planet. It is made up of gases.it also has rings.it is the coldest planet.

Neptune:

Neptune is the Eighth planet. It is bluish green in colour and it is surrounded by clouds.

Pluto:

Up to 2006,Pluto was considered as the ninth planet.Since it does not have the properties of a planet.it is now regarded as a dwarf planet.

The sun is a ball of fire.it is very hot.living organisms. Cannot exist on the earth in the absence of the sun.

RAKSHA BANDHAN.

Rakhi or Raksha bandhan on the Full moon day Known as the sharavan poornima in the month of July-August.It is celebrated to strengthen the emotional bond of affection between brother and sister. On this day sisters tie a holy thread around their brothers wrist. The brothers in return promise to protect their sisters from harm.Both offer sweets to each other.One does not have to be a blood brother, to build this bond.Anyone whom a woman accepts as her brother or well-wisher can receive a Rakhi.
   In History,Rani Karnavati of chittor sent a Rakhi to the Mughal Emperor Humayun and he accepted it! This thread is tied with sisterly love and is called 'Rakhi'which means 'a bond of protection'.
